You know of no one in Canada who has died waiting for care because they didn't have to money to travel elsewhere for medical care?
I got a real feel for having immediate point of access care here in the United States when my daughter had a life-threatening skull base tumor that needed same day surgery. It's rare but not so rare there isn't a facebook group for it (of course). One thing I learned by being a part of that group is that many other countries make those patients wait for months to get surgery whereas here in the US, it's considered an emergency. Their continued problems, loss of hearing, paralysis, etc they've had seems to be the consequence of that waiting and making policy that it's not an emergency. My kid and others in the US? Almost all of them had no ongoing issues. That's anecdotal, yes, but for me, personally, it made me very, very happy I was in the US for my daughter's medical care.
We were getting ready to leave the area we had been with our Motor Home and he was on the roof and fell 12 foot. It was an emergency situation that resulted in a shattered elbow, broken ulna, broken radius, broken radial head.
Our only choice in this situation was out of network and the amount that is out of pocket cost for us is after the appeal and the services being covered at network rates instead of out of network rates.

No I don't, and I've been here for 74 years.....I had a heart attack about 10 years ago, and had a stent installed in less than two hours....Cost to me $60, and that was for the ambulance ride.

First, I'm glad you are doing well.
Second, how much had you paid in payroll and other taxes over your life? It cost you more than $60.
I'm not from Canada but I know of someone who died because she was too old to receive dialysis in Canada and could not afford treatment in the United States.
No payroll taxes here, and our income taxes are about the same as yours, but I do pay a monthly premium of $69.
How can you compare income taxes if you don't know the tax bracket of the poster? Also, are you saying that Canada uses the same income tax guidelines as the United States?

Sorry, but I do not believe you...There is no age limit for treatment here....A neighbor of mine who was on dialysis passed away this spring...He was 94.

No dialysis if you are over 65 with other co-morbidities.
