Alright yes, in the large-scale sense of things, the Earth has been cooling for a very long time. Obviously I was talking about the comparatively very recent warming trend that has been attributed to human activity, not the natural cycles that have been disrupted by that activity.

If anything, this proves that a planet that should be cooling in a 'natural' scenario isn't.

I'll also add that the person responsible for the ice core data you're using here (Richard Alley) is one of the biggest AGW proponents out there.

It's due to all the pollution we're putting in the air-it's blocking the sun. The only hope is to tax energy suppliers, drive up energy costs and stop oil and gas production.
