the loans and guarantees will earn at least $5 billion over 20 years or so, according to a Bloomberg article citing a single anonymous source.

Remember Solyndra? Those loans are making money - The Washington Post

China is like the Wal Mart of the world, they are willing to take short term losses for long term gains. I never underestimate them. What'sintereting is many of these Chinese companies are experiencing the same difficulties and more importantly because of those economic pressures the quality of the product they are producing is coming into question. These panels are expected to last 20 or 30 years, the next few decades are going to get very interesting if there is massive failures.

Does not change a single thing about Solyndra at all.
Solyndra was still a loss.....period.
Solyndra was also not the only company with this result.

Solyndra: Energy Dept. pushed firm to keep layoffs quiet until after midterms

Energy Department failed to sound alarm as Solyndra sank

The US government existence is based on taxes from the oil companies. The subsidies are political quid pro quo and pale in comparison to what the feds get back.
