Not initially for those covered by this EO but if the bill that Obama supports is passed, they would be. There would not, as part of that bill, any means test to determine if these immigrants would be a net positive for this country or not.

Odd: Tens of millions of early 20th century Europeans who came here would fail that test.

Bob---you can not compare immigration from over 100 years ago to immigration today. Back then we were a largely agrarian and industrial society. Like the immigrants who arrived here, many Americans were illiterate.

The immigrants who came back then had all the necessary skills to survive and to find work. Also, there was no welfare then. Everybody knew it was up to them to either sink or swim.

Fast forward to today---this country does not need millions of functionally illiterate illegal aliens---many of who can't even count to ten.

southbel, Obama's EO expires in 3 years. Now I suspect we'll keep DC gridlocked, and nothing of substance on any issue will pass. In the interim, my focus is on what is..not what either side desires that will not be.

I really hope the house takes up the Senate bill. Remove the pathway to citizenship if thats the sticking point, then send it back to the Senate.

We'll see over the next few weeks how and if congress acts
That has been proven bogus and even admitted to by Obama himself.

"Camp of the Saints" has come to life and become reality rather than a tale of fiction.
