The U.S. has done nothing for 30 years. It has not mattered who sat the oval or held the majority.
If Congress does not like it, they can take action on their own. Thus far, the house has avoided being on the record with a vote or developing an alternative to the BIPARTISAN senate bill.
I look forward to a Republican president in 2016 along with a Republican controlled Congress. Anyone think there will be mass deportations? Instead we'll deficit spend $ hundreds of billions a year building and maintaining fences and employing more border patrol- growing government, while pretending we have done something. We'll continue to ignore employment of undocumented workers and life will go on.
I agree, doing nothing is amnesty defacto, but to give out the amnesty by law is another. I'd rather the occupier does nothing than to give them amnesty.
So in your own words, if its already amnesty, why do anything?
An analogy would be: If your neighbor is on welfare, gets section 8 and on stamps and then comes to your house to ask for money....do you give your neighbor the money? or do you say, you have enough, no additional money for you.
Yup, there will always be pick pockets, bank robbers, car thieves, and people breaking into our homes and stealing our stuff, we can never possibly prevent all these crimes either. So the least we can do is reward these law breakers with some free stuff from our government.
What is your plan?

Shut down the Bridge of Americas?
Stop international travel?
Retract citizenship from people like Michelle Malkin, Mia Love and Bobby Jindal?
No China had no illegal immigration problem in the first place. Once a country has 5 million + illegals, well, God helps us all.
Criminals, as they are here illegally, disdain our laws/culture and refuse to assimilate. Real Americans in prison have more rights than invaders=enemy.
But deporting them is not a realistic option. Everyone knows that. So what do you do?

I hear this talking point repeated ad nausem but the only thing people say when you call them on it is that "you can't round them up all at once" ....
Who says you have to do it all at once?
There's a flea market down the road from where I live where you can start. On any given weekend there are probably three or four hundred illegal aliens there.
Do it a bit at a time and make the consequences for returning unpalatable for them and the companies that hire them, so you don't have to keep deporting the same ones over and over again through a revolving door.
Like the old saying goes......How do you eat an elephant?
