China and Russia are going to evolve into an "interesting" relationship.
Without a doubt, and for the most part a logical relationship. However you are still looking at two very different cultures, so I'm curious which will be the first to cry foul.

Who the heck is talking bout the fall of America, other than you? This was about the emergence of China into the realm of being a global power, not one of the demise of the US. If you are paranoid, I think Giuliani is selling some

China is still many many decades away from being a true superpower on the scale of the USA. It does not have the economy, technology or military to even begin to match the awesome power of the USA.

China & Russia are using their new found wealth that we have given to them to upgrade their economy and military. As America evolves into a Third rate
country in ten years lets all hope these countries will send us foreign aid. Not!
Since the earth is headed for environmental disaster anyway in 25 years what difference does it make anyway? Enjoy while it lasts!!

KevK, I sure hope you're right. I would not want to see China as a super-power on the level of America. It's a frightening thought and I hope I don't live long enough to see it.

Yeah, it was just me. I mentioned it because when liberals get all excited (where they admit it or not) about the rise of China, what they are really excited about is the fall of America.

Question is, if our government called the American Public to arms - what percentage would actually join the military? In China, what would be the result?
As far as economy.. what would occur in America if China stopped exporting goods to us?
As far as Technology goes, America is pretty far behind countries like Korea and Japan - which are conveniently located right next to China.
This doesn't look much different than many American Cities:

Maybe outsourced jobs from years past could come back to our shores - what a novel concept.
Well, Fear China Thread #1,236. Gee, are they marching through downtown Topeka yet?
I am old enough to remember when China meant Red Guards, Mao and obedient masses dressed in identical grey suits owning nothing more than a garden rake made from twigs.
Sorry if I do not fear the latest version of the yellow peril (when will it be Laos' turn?) but I will take the China of commerce over the China of the Great Leap Forward any day. Maybe some of you still have old bomb shelters in your back yards.
I just hope someone checks the gold medals in Beijing for lead paint.
