I do not think China will ever fall for the World Empire aspect of their militarism. World Empires 'the awsome power of the US" always cost more than the dominant country can afford. This is what is destroying our competitive advantage. We are wasting our substance to be the "policman of the world". Past time to stop.

Maybe outsourced jobs from years past could come back to our shores - what a novel concept.
Many of the once factories have been sold to developers. So, many factories would have to be rebuilt - which is great for jobs. Then, the factories would have to be filled with workers. Hurray for jobs.

However, because they have to pay actual wages here - prices for various objects are going to go up in price.

As many factories closed shop and moved overseas - it wasn't an immediate one day we ship our goods and the next day we close our doors and start building a new factory in China. The factories in China were being built as product was still being produced. The reverse could happen if China slowly started to cause "problems" - but not if China suddenly closed borders to America.

Well, Fear China Thread #1,236.
While I'll agree that China is a super power, I won't fear their actions. China and America are very similiar in terms of economy, technology, and military strength. The end result of our "relationship" with China is that we are both leeching off of each other.

China is our major source of goods. America is China's major source for "customers". It's a dual parasitic relationship.

What makes you think they won't? Do you know many non-Chinese Asians?

While there is actually something to that, I would inform you that since 1950, China has pretty much fought some kind of war with nearly every neighbor she has.

Yep, and we, the United States, made it all possible.

Have a feeling we'll regret that one.

At least China does not need to go half way around the world to pick a fight.

No, they prefer to murder Tibetan Buddhist monks, destroy their culture, and drive the Dalai Lama into exile.

And yet China sees them as dangerous terrorists and insurgents, a threat to the greater good of the Tibetan people. If only those damn Iraqi...I mean Tibetans could appreciate how China has helped them.
