What are we doing to address the pay gap between young single women and young single men? (salary, dollar)

Young single women out-earn young single men in this country. I was curious what was being done to address this sexist pay gap.

What does being Single have to do with this? How does being Single or not equate to what your salary will be?

What is your definition of young?

Are we speaking of the same level of education and/or experience?

I would think that most people believe that men and women in the same job with the same level of experience, education, and job ability, should be paid approximately the same. In general, findings are suggesting that is more true than false.

If we want to address the 77 cents per dollar issue, we need to focus far more on encouraging women to go into more lucrative careers, and a system that doesn't make it difficult for women to work full time after they have kids.

I don't understand this. I know many, many, many Women Single and Married that have worked full time before and after having Children.
