Does anyone know how many Members of the Libertarian Party have been elected to congress? Are there currently any elected Libertarians in the Senate, or the House of representitives. What does it say about a political party when their biggest hope for elected office is running as a member of a different party?

The Libertarian party is not a viable party. There are too many extremists (anarchists) involved. However, libertarian ideals are something we should strive for.

I do not think anarchists and libertarians have much in common.

Ron Paul is a Republican, not a Libertarian. He does have some "libertarian" with a small "l" tendencies, but is not a member of the party. He is the candidate of this election who attracts the nutjobs, unless Lyndon LaRouche decides to jump in.

Libertarians believe in as little government as possible, but they still support government. Anarchists are just that and better ignored.

I consider myself to have libertarian views, but I'm not a Libertarian, just an Independent.

Ron Paul has been a Repbulican his entire time in Congress. He just happens to have some libertarian leanings. Not all Republicans are big-government neocons.

Yep, same here. I've donated to the Libertarian Party before, but I've never been a member.

Interesting. I don't know a single anarchist Paul supporter.

I know a lot who believe in defending the Constitution, though.
