People who think Cankles has a shot at this point seem to think the country still loves obama.

Americans may say it in a poll, but 39 states plus DC have voted the same way 28 straight years for POTUS. In order for the GOP to have any shot, they must win some Blue Wall states, that even supported folks like Gore, Dukakis and Kerry, the 3 weakest Dems during that span of time.

Since those 3 ran, demographics have flipped Va and NM blue. Only a W Latino level of support (44%) would at minimum be needed to undo that additional damage to the GOP in POTUS races. His best win total was 286 ECs, while the Dems weakest win total since 1992 is 332 ECs. In 24 years, Dems won >61% of all ECs.

Latinos own the keys to any GOP chance, and even that will be like threading a needle. The BW is simply EC rich, while the Red Fortress is largely depopulated and disproportionately EC pithy.

not so sure about that.. If Hillary throws obama under the bus, she will gather lots of Democratic support.. Those who like Obama will still vote for her because they will never vote R no matter who the nominee is..

Hillary will excite aging liberal boomers. I don't see her exciting the minority and youth vote that was so critical to Obama's electoral success.
And FOUR is the compelling fact that both as a senator and as Secretary of State she accomplished nothing, zero, nada.
What record can she run on....Benghazi????

The Rs in Congress need to begin dismantling Obamacare piece-by-piece right out of the starting gate in late January.

When O vetoes their bills, make every Democrat in Congress go on record supporting it.

Problem solved.

I agree. Schumer is a shrewd political animal...and a friend of the Clintons. He's obviously done the political calculus that offending the WH won't have any negative side-effects. Which sends a huge message to the rest of the party.

She's a runner up and now some Dems talk about giving us their "also ran" second choice after this wonderful prize they gave us this time?
No thanks.

Hillary hates Obama. She plays nice for the public but she really cannot stand the guy.

Rs are in the same position Ds were after the 2008 elections. They are down to about a half dozen moderates in both houses for the opposing party. Who will quake in fear? Joe Manchin? Harry Reid probably should politically but he won't.

The Ds that survived this year are probably more worried about the liberals staying home. Look at Va were Warner's biggest problem was underperforming D areas and R areas going redder or CO were Udall only lost by three as his base was yawned. Name a single D moderate in the House? The Dems up for election in 2016 are in Blue states or Blue districts.

I think the real message Schumer is making is that Ds need to be seen as on the side of working class whites. And to be honest Cap and Trade was a bigger folly than Obamacare since politically healthcare was probably a once in a lifetime shot. Spending capital on cap/trade before that was simply goofy since most voters could give two craps about it. Its funny how no one is going back to even touch DADT or nuclear proliferation bill that were also rammed through with the same remaining votes back in 2010. Obamacare is basically the name of the game.
