Her father worked as a janitor, among other jobs, to put her through school at the University of Hartford. After speaking at the Republican National Convention in 2012, where she said "my parents immigrated to the U.S. with $10 in their pocket ... when times got tough, they didn't look to Washington, they looked within" as well as that Obama's "policies have failed." Afterward, her Wikipedia page was vandalized, as those who didn't approve of her brief address called her a "*****," "sellout" and "House N--r."
Insert "war on women" joke here.
The first time she ran for Congress, she lost.
Yet through it all, she persevered.
I'm actually curious as to wear to wear she stands on social policies in america. I have no problem with being fiscally conservative, but if you're socially conservative? That's literally just saying, I don't want certain people to be able to do X.

The true sign of progress isn't whether a black person can win political office even as a Republican. The true sign of progress is when you have to make a snap judgement about a person you have just met and you know nothing about him or her, do you base that decision on that person's skin color or not.
I guess different people have a different interpretation of what progress is.
Progress for some is in the opposite direction as progress for others - probably why the country as a whole doesn't improve - we are pulling against ourselves.

Liberals, can you recognize a step forward?
I have no idea why the people of Utah's 4th voted for her, im assuming it is because she believes in what many of them believe in.
However you spent 2 and a half years saying the GOP needed to get more black people regardless of if you agreed with their views or not and you specifically mentioned Mia Love.
So is it a step forward for Utah and the GOP, sure, for you, no. You made your views clear a while ago.
The bravest Americans are black conservatives....trust me.
