The road tax has not gone up since the early 90's. It's a political hot potato but really needed.

Here in Washington state we have a lot of ballot measures to vote on, including tax proposals. My rule is to never vote for a tax hike as long as taxation is already at ungodly levels, which it is. Again, let us look at reining in some of the absurdities of federal spending, then we can talk about a tax increase.

They actually done it to themselves, the Federal Gov. Every one has pushed a incentives to people to buy hybrids and trade their old gas guzzler in. Now the Feds got their wish.

Most people do not understand we as Americans are almost taxed for everything many times over. The bigger problem is the Federal Gov. does not have a clue on running their departments as a business would, Right size the business.
Americans pays the lowest tax burden of all first world countries. Perhaps there are things you don't know.

I have yet to see an example of funds from mass transit being used to fund roads.
About 1/2 our defense spending is to defend our business interests in Middle East oil producing countries. If we didn't need their oil we wouldn't care about their wars.

No, I said that. 400 square feet is more than enough. If you want more, work harder.

That is very true, and we are becoming dumber by the minute, we should be going harder in the direction of mass transit, particularly rail. Some of the large metropolitan areas have deplorable rail systems while people sit in traffic going no where, every city could use improvement but LA, Atlanta, Boston standout and the status quo remains.

You people just don't think any further then, people shouldn't have this or that...Lets say for example if people were not allowed to have a private automobile, what would be done with all of those said automobiles? Try being a realist for once, instead of a brain dead liberal.

What's really brain dead dumb is that a bus ride costs $1.70 per passenger mile here (WA) while a private car is 37 cents per passenger mile. And the car is more convenient, faster, and more pleasant. Until someone can figure out how to rein in the costs of public transit, I can't support it.
