Millennials are way more educated than their parents. They're also paid less. - Vox
Book educated, not life educated and that is one HUUUUUUGE difference.

From what I've noticed, the Boomers lack a sense of proportion when they make statements about today's job market. They'll say things like:

You Millennials have so many more opportunities! You are able to make $100k/yr while you sit on beanbags and "code" at Google or Amazon!

Never mind the fact that there are 10,000+ applicants for every 1 person who gets such a position.

Even for mediocre white-collar jobs, there is a fair amount of competition. It's undeniably more difficult for an average person to make a living these days. The phrase "Average is over!" comes to mind.

We should have a federal program for them where they have to work in nursing homes taking care of seniors and be forced to listen to what reality really is.

Being "way" more educated (e.g. they have more college degrees) doesn't make them smarter. If anything, millennials are intellectually stunted compared to previous generations. For instance, they know a lot about Steve Jobs and Apple and its products and how to use them, but they know absolutely nothing about how business, finance, commerce, and capitalism really work.

I think the c-d millennials have shown us in this thread their lack of education and knowledge. But they certainly are bitter so at least they've got that (and their hatred).

I think it is more of an entitlement syndrome....wish they would have to learn proper history in college. Maybe read Brokaw's book "The Greatest Generation".

Boomers were the biggest generation in the history of America. Do you really think there was no competition for jobs for young Boomers??

I'm a Gen X'er and have no kids so don't blame me.
