I saw this on the news last night, sans the video.

Imagine that. Cops using their own time and money to do some good.

I wonder why they were recording while off duty. Makes it look like PR.

I say this as someone who generally respects Police officers.

The guy was shot to prove a point?

I'm pretty sure he was shot for fighting with the cop and trying to grab a gun.

Maybe, maybe not.

Pretty fast on the judgment call.

Boynton Beach Police Dept Media Relations.

Yeah, they're going to videotape and publish themselves beating a guy or tape themselves threatening to shoot a guy taping them and mouthing off.

The underlined actually happened.

Definitely a PR stunt. Body cam footage would only come out if they wanted it to come out. Or in the event of a controversial shooting or something. The timing of this also makes it pretty obvious.

Doesn't change the fact that they did a nice thing for that family though. Good on them.

Where are all of the ambulance chasing lawyers?

Never mind.

Got the title confused with the Pennsylvania cop beating case.

The guy was shot because he was stupid and decided to attack a cop because he didn't want to obey and get out of the middle of the road.

Ferguson became a media circus afterwards because of the media's influence, and it continues on based on a false narrative.
