2e1mfa"So automation would not happen if fast food workers were willing to work for less money or if there was no discussion about the topic of minimum wage in the mainstream media?"
It would be less likely. Corps automate based on ROI -payback investment years, low being better. Equation is investment(that is a fixed amount)/labor savings. As pay rate rises, denominator gets bigger, and the answer to investment/savings drops, making investment more likely.
Wow. you have missed the existing technology thats been demonstrated repeatedly, that adds extra mayo, sans pickles, etc. Heck they even vary the cook times, burger thickness everything.
Yep. McDs also has an automated drink maker on a conveyor belt....automating at McD's is nothing new.
That way you can pay more and not have to worry about employees beating the customers or each other or showing up to work high etc. and having to hire and train new staff all the time.
We'll just need a small population of smart people and a bunch of robots. We'll evolve into brains with no bodies and just kind of sit there in a plexiglass case being smug.
Funny thing... I recall a comic book that showed humans in a similar state of existence....just sitting around 'thinking'...living in dome enclosed cities. It must have been published 50 years ago. Given humankind's current current course and speed they may end up like this someday...if they don't destroy each other and their world first. The good thing is most of us are too old to worry or see this...but some might
You've missed his idea that everyone should live in large group homes, eating bread and water, and sharing a bathroom? Mircea posts about it pretty regularly.
Meanwhile of course the rich will continue to live in ever increasing opulence. LOL. Mircea actually believe this will work out well.
I didn't know he was considering that. It sounds alot like prison.
yes, but leasing offers certain tax advantages over owning,
leasing is a deduction, owning is a deprecation value..
You get a 1 for 1 tax credit for leasing yearly while depreciation values are amortized out over years, sometimes decades depending on the type of equipment.
Some contractors have two businesses......one owns the equipment and one is the functioning business.
