The gender earnings gap by state, according to the Labor Department

Wyoming, which prides itself on its early granting of the right to vote to women, is the state with the widest earnings gap by gender, according to data in a new Bureau of Labor Statistics report. In that state, full-time or salaried women earn 68.6 percent what men do in median weekly earnings in 2013.
Nationally, women earned 82.1 percent of what men earned, according to BLS. Women earn less than 75 cents on the dollar in another four states: Louisiana, Alaska, Utah and West Virginia. Vermont and D.C. are the only areas where women earn more than 90 cents on the dollar. (In Vermont, they earn 91.3 cents for every dollar men earn. In D.C., they earn 90.8 cents.) The median, or middle value, is often used instead of an average in order to minimize the impact of outliers — small groups of very high or very low values.

Maybe they place higher value on social issues over economic ones?

I don't know... Perhaps because they can think for themselves instead of falling for the faux "war on women" narrative, prefer to vote with their brains instead of their "lady parts" and can recognize bills with nonsense attached under the guise of something else?

Have you even bothered to find out why women are paid less? There is a very good reason if you care about this issue, as you seem to indicate.

DO THE RESEARCH!

And this is a very, very good point, and one which the Democrats will never admit to.

The Equal Pay Act was signed into law in 1963.

Do you have any evidence the GOP tried to block its passage?

The Equal Pay Act of 1963 (EPA)

What you talking about? I am a woman, have my education and I fought once a LONG time ago to get my equal pay and I won- why should I get paid less?? Why would anyone vote that down?

In GOD'S eyes I am equal- so what social issues? I do understand the sly bills that are passed have leeches attached to them, as in the new increased donations to political parties and the repeal of Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act -
so create a new bill that protects women's rights-
I do not see the support- except the Stepford wives syndrome is in effect- you have your maid and credit cards. Don't rock the boat, honey- let the man go to work-
