This is nothing new and is right out of the playbook, the {D}s get real fiscal conservative when the {R}s are in charge. What would you expect? the [D] s to defend and run on their fiscal record or on their ideas? Pelosi could become the new conservative voice and will make the {R}s look like big spending liberals. And by the looks of that bill she is right.
National debt predicted to be 4 trillion higher up to 22 Trillion in just 4 years! What shrinking deficit? We just simply spend money off budget and use other gimmicks so fools can praise the current leaders for a false half a trillion dollar deficit in 2014 --- when the national debt rose 1.1 Trillion in FY 2014.
In a sick way I am sort of rooting for Pelosi, do not know how anyone calling themselves conservative could be in support. Just the hurry up process of passing a 1600 pg bill that no one has read is a good enough reason. The choices are we get this crap bill or Pelosi gets away with blaming the {R}s for the shut down. Go Nancy ,go
And yet, the Tea Party and the far left have something in common here--opposition to the giveaways to Wall Street and the banks in this mess of a bill the Republicans are pushing. Strange bedfellows, indeed.
We sometimes see Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders agreeing on legislation, while the leadership in the establishment wing of both the dems and repubs oppose them. We might be seeing a bit of that here as well.
Where the hell was the need to bump up campaign donation limits so that a single donor could give up to $324,000 per year, or $648,000 for a couple? I thought we wanted to try and get some of the money out of politics?
According to Michael Savage that was a play by the Republican party apparatus to insure that they can snuff out any descent (ie the Tea Party) at its root. Basically enough cash will be available to prop up the party establishment candidate in every race so that it becomes much more difficult for an outsider to move ahead.
My personal theory- much easier to bribe congress people now. I wouldn't be surprised to see all the congressional spouses and children switch form lobbying and 'legislative/government liaison' type jobs to straight up jobs with the parties. Or 'political consulting.'
I am thoroughly disgusted by the leadership of both parties today. Under the guise of compromise they basically have chosen several of the worst possible items to agree on. And as a liberal I think the wall street giveaways, executive actions and greater party donations are pure BS. Either a issue is important enough to legislate or its not. And you either have to votes to do it or you don't. Now they are just shoving crap through on the side so they can all pretend they didn't want what they are actually voting for- and they didn't have to go on record. SMH.
I am in complete agreement with the "Tea Party" on this one. As a liberal I have always championed individual liberty and an end to elite privilege.
This is foolish. It is like giving an addicted gambler unlimited loss insurance just before sending him into the Casino at Monte Carlo. The big investors have it made. They collect the profits and pass off the losses to everyone else. That is a brilliant move by the Wall Street gamblers.
Where are all the C-D conservatives? Why aren't they making a stink about the giveaways to Wall Street and the banks in this bill? It's one of the Tea Party's core issues, yet the silence from the far right on this is deafening. Which is weird, because they are usually anything but quiet here.
So--you guys are all cool with this?
ETA: While perusing some right wing boards I've come across a meme that is really funny. The president has gone on record as saying he will sign the bill should it get to his desk. THIS has made some Republicans who previously supported it suddenly back away. If Obama is okay with it, we can't pass it! Too, too funny. I think the president is craftier than his opponents give him credit for.
ah, no, we don't live on this board like you. Being too busy right now and only hearing a little, I'm not good with this.
By the way, there is nothing funny about government abusing the tax payer. Not for your purposes, not for banker purposes.
This is no different than when you condoned abusing the tax payer for your purposes. Just a different beneficiary.
