Wow. There's been some pretty nasty rhetoric and pretty disingenuous slurs on this thread. Mostly from people who clearly don't know what the hell they are talking about, unsurprisingly.

"Ugh! Squatting Duck need smoke 'em peace pipe."

That gets laughs but if I jokingly said "Hey, back off, cracker!" I'd probably get slammed for being a racist.

No kidding, Townie. It's incredible. The political "leaders" in this state--wackadoo nutty as they are--constantly rail about being small government. Such a twisted joke.

Perhaps The Biggest Lie in American politics these days is that (neo)conservatives (I say "neo" because there ARE no actual conservatives in American politics anymore...the Republican Party axed all true conservatives and conservative principles from their house 4-5 decades ago) claim to be "small government." Such an ignorant, hypocritical, bald-faced lie. And most people self-identifying as "conservatives" in this nation either ignore that fact or are too idiotic to realize the fact.

Not that there's anything better or more preferable about the Democrats/"liberals."

I am amused that the call for individual right to not be robbed by market destroying big business is basic to both the liberal left and the tea party. The problem is that the established centers of both parties have been bought by big business and ignore everyone else that call themselves Republican or Democrat. They have turned politics into a "Pay to Play" that most Americans cannot afford.

I hope Oklahoma conservatives noticed that the sky didn't fall when the first legal same sex marriarge license was recently issued in Oklahoma. It will be no different when marijuana is legalized in Oklahoma. They severely need to do something about the insane drug laws in Oklahoma, because the prison system is getting so overcrowded that the federal government may have to step in and take it over. Part of the what is causing the problem is they are sending too many people to prison over drugs. True, they may have broken their probably over drug charges, but many of them have done no harm, such as thieving.
