Wondered if North Korea is innocent after all, and Sony had a hand in their own Hack.
Talk about free publicity for a low budget film. This is approaching the free publicity and marketing that came with Last Temptation of Jesus. If so, then good marketing ploy.
Why would they need to do that? Sony is a billion dollar company. I don't think so.

Nope, too many moving parts and things getting leaked that no company would want this to be a scam. I mean seriously, without pulling the movie, many people both as Hollywood celebrities and consumers feel sick about things said and done by them. Then you have the social security numbers and bank accounts as well as health records getting leaked. I doubtSony would seriously do all that to promote a film. The Spiderman issues, is about as far as I would go for an acceptable conspiracy theory. The problem is the rest is far too wreckless for any type of promotion.
I think the hacking was legit and SONY just played it very badly. They're now trying to undo the damage they did to themselves and are getting praise for figuring out how stupid they were......
SONY is a mess but virtually all in the entertainment industry are a two faced bunch of money grubbers and spineless lackwitted entertainers that have no idea what to do without it being spoon fed to them. That's why they've forged such close ties with our government. They're on the same wave length with so many politicians.
In a new update, the movie will be released in about 200 theaters nation wide. Most of them are independent owned and none of the theaters that pulled out of showing the film last week have jumped on board. Now we can complain that they did this because they was called cowards and called out by just about everyone.
Risk vs Reward. I can't imagine what would happen to them if it was exposed that this was all a publicity stunt. The cost would be far, far, far, greater than any possible benefit from a movie that cost what, 40 million? That's nothing.
I have to agree with this.
While Hollywood is filled with famewhores, I cannot imagine that Sony would be willing to roll the dice on a stunt like this. The negative PR that would result would be massive.
I think it was more like Sony's corporate defense could not stand up to the power of a national government. They thought that they were alone and surrendered.
Then the United States found itself in the position where her citizens where living under the censorship imposed by Kim. To deter others like the Islamic State from trying cyber warfare the administration let their offensive cyber warfare units loose on North Korea while putting pressure on Sony so the Obama's legacy won't include losing the first public cyber war.
Now that Sony knows they are not alone they are risking a limited release so Kim does not win.
Should have never been delayed.
I hope to go see it soon or at least, buy it online!
