It's the same as the hippies after Altamont, some joined society and entirely conformed while others are a part of the recent police protests whether or not they have a job or not.
As for police laughing, they aren't. Now every action they take no matter how justified they are (Ferguson and Cleveland for example due to imminent threat) or they aren't (the Garner case where he was choked for no reason (though if he could say can't breathe, he had air.)) Police relations are at a historic low because many people see them as they were in Chicago in '68 with the Democratic National Convention, attacking when not provoked. Don't get me wrong, the protests aren't exactly right when they interrupt business and commutes but no side is more right than the other.
You'd be more likely to find them at unemployment or social service offices looking for a free ride.
I doubt that. I think it is more so of most silently joining the machine similar to hippies who joined the workforce after the Altamont festival debacle. You never really heard of hippies again until the neo-hippies of the late 1980's who basically dressed like hippies and that's it. However I think most still are in causes unlike the former hippies.

Some of them are out protesting highly sensationalized cases like the Mike Brown verdict and doing "die ins". Others are on Facebook posting progressive politics on their timelines and telling their friends to "Wake up!".
A few of them did grow up and get jobs though, and they now vote Republican
Been getting curious about this, revisiting that Occupy movement of 2011/2012.
What happened to all those activists who got involved and helped make it happen? Did their involvement in Occupy influence their politics?
For me, who did pass through a local Occupy movement, it made me actually less engaged and more apolitical. I tend to tune out politics and pop culture even more...both mainstream and fringe... and am more into the concept of YOYO...You're On You're Own....
Wonder if other Occupiers also embraced a sort of internal emigration from society?
They all moved the Washington and are to stoned to care. After all, their sugar daddy took care of the rent, food stamps, healthcare and the lot! It's a great time to be a moonbat.
That is because most of them were told you need college and wasnt swayed otherwise to not go. Then when they come out they find that their degree is worth dick because they aren't in demand anymore despite maybe being in demand into junior and senior level course work.
