That is why I generally avoid debating with people about guns, I think both sides have valid points.
Often times even valid points become moot where it comes to our rights. To say that it is abhorrent that the KKK can use a park to hold a rally is a valid point but it's irrelevant to their right to do so.

Debating with people about guns is a big mistake. Something I should have learned a long time ago.
The three-judge panel of the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously ruled that a federal ban on gun ownership for those who have been committed to a mental institution violated the Second Amendment rights of 73-year old Clifford Charles Tyler.
That's interesting.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
A recent decision from a Federal District Court in Massachusetts comes to much the same conclusion.
Federal Court: Massachusetts' law requiring visitors to have a MA License to Carry a Gun, is UNCONSTITUTIONAL
Would you want someone that was committed to a mental institution carrying a gun around your neighborhood, we need to err on the side of caution when it comes to allowing institutionalized people to have guns. They can't possibly live without a gun.
I want the principles of my country upheld which include rights of the individual.
