In case you hadn't noticed, Bush is not in office, Obama is. The low and sinking marks are his, no matter how you claim that they are not. In addition, did you happen to notice and read your reference post? See where it says "first term"? How is that relative to a second term for either of them?
For further information to attempt your bias, call 1 800 WAA WAAA. They always back Obama.
Wait until they have a few months of an all Republican Congress wasting time on useless hearings and endless attempts to defund, repeal or otherwise chip away at the ACA, and doing nothing constructive or of value whatsoever. You know, the typical GOP M.O. When they have no one to hide behind any longer for their complete, inept uselessness, I predict the president's approval numbers will be higher still.
So what you are saying is that it takes a Republican Congress to make Democratic Presidentic approval ratings to improve.
I suppose there is some evidence of that, like clinton.
It must suck that they cant do that all by themself.
So, does beating GWB by a few percentage points make Obama a success? I'm not sure you knew this, but GWB hasn't been President in more than 6 years now.
GWB was and Obama is a terrible president. This is what happens when neither party listens to the citizens. The politcal class have hijacked this country, trashed civil rights, ignore the Constitution, and have divided the country.
Let's be completely honest... both parties have failed us.
At this point in his presidency, Dec, 2006, Bush was at 35 percent approval. Obama's current RCP average approval is 42.6%. But again this is only due to his skill in exploiting identity politics. According to the Washington Post poll (from October) Obama is only at 30% among whites, but is at 84% among blacks.

How is Obama "skillful" at identity politics if he only has a 30% approval rating among whites? Seems like Obama has an inherent handicap (his skin color) GWB did not have. Hillary Clinton, for example, would likely have the same approval rating among blacks, as they lean heavily to the left anyway.
Obama's popularity numbers in year six, according to Gallup, are worse than all other recent two term presidents including Reagan, Clinton, Eisenhower, except Bush II. I don't find that very popular.

His popularity among Latinos shot up 10 percent following his immigration announcement, the economic picture is much rosier (and Americans are finally starting to notice), and they generally agree with Obama's decision to re-establish relations with Cuba.
If Americans wise up to the BS anti-ACA agenda peddled by the right, his popularity will soar.
Agree, he made the best political move of any US president in the last 50 years by re-establishing contact & maybe full relations with Cuba.
