Secondly the NHS increasingly outsources minor surgery to the private sector and thirdly you can take out private health insurance in the UK if you so desire.
Pass the popcorn Bamford. Here we go again..........'socialized' medicine. Shock! Horror!
Oh yes I read it, The brits single payer health plan has long lines, and many delays, and also does not have enough beds or doctors. and the way to fix it is to jack taxes on the middle class again, and again, and again.
It wasn't a very long article, what part confused you?

That is because the British system is socialized, doctors, nurses, hospitals etc. Most european nations have a mixture of the two but nothing like ours.

The British System involves private health providers who carry out contracted out services, whilst NHS Trusts and Teaching Hospitals run their own budgets.
What polling? It's the only plan! of course people love it as opposed to having nothing...and its a ponzi scheme, everyone working today is paying for the elderly on the program right now.
but is it feasible for the entire country? ie single payer. My point of the OP is single payer sucks, yes everyone has health care, sucky health care.
Do those of you who support single payer think your going to get a head of the line card?

Lookup "Advantage Plans- Supplemental Plan" There are other premium paying plans that piggyback Medicare.
I understand quite well. My point is if no one received any kind of subsidy of any kind pertaining to health insurance, few would have it and many of those who do would find themselves underinsured.
I disagree, do away with all subsidy's and watch how fast a $40,000 hospital visit, becomes $1800.
every time the gov. subsidizes something it goes through the roof.

That is not a choice, it's an add on, much like what is going on in many European countries, you pay high taxes for single payer and then pay even more for private insurance to make up for how crappy the single payer is.

How would those hospitals pay for the 2 million dollar MRI machine?
Your premise is wrong. Facts are, all developed nations, of which many are much older civilizations than ours, have all developed single payer, universal health care systems for their citizens, rather than a free market system, like ours.
Talk about the ultimate fail. I work for the Government and am part of a union. Not only that but we can't fill open positions because of our union negotiated crappy pay, so go tell your blue caller worker friend on min. wage to put down the bong and come apply.
Unions kill themselves through greed and corruption, not by republicans. And you can thank your dear leader obama for killing 40 hour a week jobs with his ACA garbage.
but this is for a different forum.
lol
I'm sure your self-serving anecdotal evidence related over the internet that can in no way be confirmed completely trumps all the statistical evidence that says you have no idea what you're talking about.
