Texan2008 Good for you!! You have a right to donate or not to donate to whomever you please. As do I. As does everyone else in this forum. Any group or individual that does NOT fully embrace and celebrate the homosexual lifestyle these days is harassed, highlighted and lampooned. There is no tolerance for intolerance of the views/opinions of the radical homosexual left and their supporters. It matters not whether you collect and donate millions of dollars to charitable causes does it? The Salvation Army, a traditional Christian organization is NOT allowed to adhere to traditional Christian views. Yes, EVERYBODY has to change their paradigm or be ostracized. Or in the case of radical feminists do you support or oppose abortion (better known as "a woman's right to choose"). Rather, what is your political leaning? "The private is public and the public is political". Yes, let's call out the thought police.

There seems to be zero gray area in this issue, considering the rhetoric I hear from the pro-LGBT activists. An organization as helpful and charitable as the Salvation Army has arrived in the crosshairs of pro-gay marriage supporters, and all of the good they do is apparently discarded because of their stance on this one issue.
No matter how much good you do, how many hungry you feed, how many cold you shelter, if you support traditional marriage you're apparently evil and should be boycotted.
In this season of giving and seeing the bell ringers of the Salvation Army outside of stores, let us all remember that the Salvation Army at it's heart, is still anti-gay and still in it's approach, a Christian organization. For those of us who are secular and non religious, it's still disheartening to know that many don't know how just how this organization really thinks of those in the gay community. I for one will never donate to this organization.
No one is asking your to donate anything, that is your choice, but don't we wish all organizations did as much for the needy as the Salvation Army? So according to the lib blog HP they are anti gay, don't they have a right regardless how you or I might feel?
You are an atheist, if you needed food and the only food bank was at the closest church, would you expect them to turn you down because you are not a Christian?
You'd think with all the Homophobia and outright hatred for the LGBTQI community out there they'd root out more evil than a bunch of bell ringers. Same tired story different year.
Glad to hear it. I have a feeling that MANY of us feel the same way--and get SICK of having their agenda shoved down our throats all the time (sorry, bad pun, but not intended)!!

Maybe a gay group can start their own charity and do a better job than the Salvation army and run them out of business... have a pink or rainbow kettle and have at it.
That's probably too much work. It's easier to send out a bunch of faxes, emails, and public media releases and hope the major media runs with it.

In other words, they have to embrace homosexuality to suit your tastes? There's a big difference between being anti-gay and pro-christian. Do you honestly believe they ask what a persons sexual preferences are before they'll help them?
