This Land is Your Land is a song, like many of Guthrie's, that reflects the story of the Dust Bowl and it's people. We sang it in my VERY conservative elementary school because it was full of kids whose parents and grandparents had left Oklahoma to move to California. Where they picked crops and tried very hard to not starve to death during the Great Depression.
Those songs are our HISTORY people. Get over yourselves.
i agree, so far everything i have read about francis scott key indicates that while he was a pacifist, it was due to religious conviction. i havent seen anything yet that indicates he was a socialist.

What makes you think the question was brought up by a conservative? It's the liberal black and white mindset that would even think of the question.

But I seems it sleft that seems to point such things out so often. But then conflict is their creed.
