According to this pew research in 2013 (link below), 13% of muslims in america said that "violence against civilians is often, sometimes or rarely justified to defend Islam."
There are 12 millions Muslims in America; 13% of 12 million is a million and a half (1,560,000).
Do you know of any other religious denomination where 13% in AMERICA call for violence to defend their religion?

You based this on what.. some poll? I'm sure you can find a poll of right wingers who would like to have segregation again..
Think about it though...if this were true, why are those "radical" 1.5 million or so living here now, not going out on a massive killing spree as we speak now? Look at how many people have bash Muslims and Islam on this forum. How come the radicals aren't out going Jihad on people?
And what about Jews, Indians (non-muslims), Chinese, and the list goes on and on. And if it's so bad in Europe/North America, how come hundreds of millions of muslims living in their countries dream to emigrate there?
Maybe because for hundreds of years arab muslims captured black Africans and sold them into slavery.
That would be a thousand years. From the moment Muslims moved into Africa, to this day they have attempted to Convert, enslave, or kill in Africa and across the globe. If you want to see how Islam spread through the world all you have to do is look at the Boko Haram, ISIS or any other Similar Islamist group. Same way Mohamad did 1500 + years ago.
Have you looked at the unemployment numbers for young Islamic men in France? 40% are unemployed. Who knows how many are underemployed. They didn't choose Islam. Their families were already Islamic when they immigrated to England, France, Germany. And religion is one of the familiar things that immigrants cling to in an unfamiliar world. These young men didn't choose Islam. It was chosen for them. They simply perverted their religion to justify their anger and frustration in a world that doesn't want them, that marginalizes them.
For someone who's not justifying terrorism, you're sure finding everything except Islam itself as sympathetic excuses and scenarios for terror.
If we could actually protect our borders effectively, then we have less to worry about. but so far we can't. Too many terrorists ALREADY hate the United States for us to be safe without very effective border control.
