Dubya might have been on shaky ground with his WMD intelligence information, but there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein was a ruthless tyrant that was destabilizing Middle East peace. America took that scumbag out, and the world thanked us for it (esp. the Iraqi people). Makes me sick to my stomach that the cowardly French chose to sit on the sidelines and criticize the undisputed world superpower --- their supposed "ally".
You sound like an American traitor and Muslim apologist to me.
Actually as despicable as he was, he was not destabilizing the middle east, he kept a lid on that dustbin

Absolutely, what the OP obviously doesn't understand is that from America's POV Iraq was a bad move. Saddam, as much as a monster as he was, was a bulwark against radical Islam*. After his removal, the floodgates have been opened. Incidentally, as for the Iraqi people being in a better position, it depends which Iraqi people you're talking about, Sunni or Shia. In terms of violence, it's pretty apparent Iraq is far more dangerous for the average Iraqi than under Saddam's tyranny.
The Iraq invasion was probably America's worst foreign policy blunder. As for the OPs disgust at France not getting on board, sometimes friends, even good friends, can say no.
* Yes, the Islamists are in a stronger position because of the Iraq invasion.
My ultimate fear is we might have to become as brutal as them in order to defeat them.
