I think it is simplest to say Islam is incompatible with western civilization.

I'm a liberal, but I agree that Islam (as many practice it) IS incompatible with Western civilization.

Muslim immigrants need to realize this and make a choice: Assimilate into your new society, or stay where you are. You cannot expect us to bend to your whims.

Plenty of Muslim immigrants do successfully integrate into American life (and European life) but it is not without effort. This goes for ANY group expecting us to change for them. They realize that they're coming to a country where they are a tiny minority and our own civilization and culture is very different; they can be Muslim all they like, but they can't force it on the rest of us. Most of them DO realize this.

That's healthy - but I suspect the global elites will quash it soon enough and not long after these victims are buried we won't hear much about it until the next Islam inspired atrocity.

Race/religion is definitely a valid topic for discussion, when it’s in the proper context.
Politicians are constantly looking for incidents of “discrimination” so they can politicize them for their own personal gain. Far left know they have a good “in” with the Muslim or minority community, so it’s beneficial for them to look like crusaders for equality in order to keep that demographic under their thumb.
In truth, they don’t want a civilized, rational debate on the topic. That would undermine their true goals.

That being said, who really know the truth about Muslim religion. Who really knows if it is the religion of peace of what? You ask 5000 people, you get at least 1000 different answers.

Most people know that majority of the Muslims are peace loving folks who are just like the rest of the human population. But keeping a balanced view on this particular religion seems challenging because most people make decision and judgments based on fear.

Good for Europe, hope they find a solution soon.

Yes, that's why I said Islam is incompatible, not necessarily muslims.

That's also why I've stated in other threads we should be closely monitoring in the US what is being preached or taught in the mosques, because I suspect it varies greatly from Imam to Imam.

It isn't just Muslims either; there are other immigrant groups who do not assimilate into American life. However, most of them don't have a tiny radical splinter who think that killing indiscriminately at the slightest offense is acceptable.

Unfortunately, that's too close to the truth.

It's too bad we can't leave the free society out of this and let them do battle with themselves until they figure this out. I hate to even see them killing each other but we have nothing to do with their religion and should be left out of it.
