Because that's one of the delights to attending city council meetings, at least where I'm from. There is always at least one nut, often more, that show up and want to speak at city council meetings. I love going to city council meetings.

The first mosque in the US was built in 1929, in North Dakota , by Syrian settlers.

The oldest standing mosque was built in 1934, in Iowa.
