Actually Obama followed the Iraq withdrawal plan that was already in place by Bush. He even tried to slow it down but then gave up when Iraq said "no, gtfo".

So Obama didn't end it, he just watched the Bush plan finish up on his watch.

As for starting it, yes that was Bush etc.

You should at least get your history right.

Years and serious $ billions were spent training Iraqi military. Bad guys came. The military shed their uniforms and hid- Rand Paul ( paraphrase)

Should The Congress decide it is necessary for the US to go back in, in a meaningful way, I want a flat war tax imposed on every citizen to pay for it. No exceptions. No income? No problem. Your fill in the blank benefit gets cut.

Iraq says U.S.-led coalition not doing enough against Islamic State
By Ahmed Rasheed and Ned Parker BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq has told President Barack Obama's envoy that the U.S.-led coalition battling Islamic State needs to do more to help Iraq defeat the jihadists controlling large areas of the north and west of the country.
Why are you mad at Iraq?

The U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands and created ISIL.

Now I want us out if Iraq, but their criticisms are 100% valid.

Remember GWBush told Muslim fanatics to come to Iraq to fight the U.S., so Iraq was a magnet for these religious fanatics, add on the long festering sectarian violence that the U.S. invasion unleashed and that's is the perfect breeding ground for a group like ISIL.

The very real problem is that conservatives were so wrong about the Iraq War. I mean conservatives got everything wrong, and every bad prediction about the outcome of an invasion of Iraq has come true.

Iraq had its own problems, but we literally destroyed that nation. Again, we need to stay out of Iraq, but their criticisms are valid.

Has the terrorism threat disappeared in your opinion then? Or do you just not want to concern yourself with that, because it it too hard for you.

It was not Obama who got Osama bin Laden. It was the Navy seals. It is important to note, however, that bin Laden was just one man, and not the end-all that you like to think in your fantasies that it was. The terror threat that he led is alive and well, largely operating in Iraq now under the name of Islamic State. They are apparently more dangerous now than ever before.

So, any strutting about Barack Obama's order to kill bin Laden as "Mission Accomplished" is entirely premature. Deja vu, anyone?

With the collapse of discussions about extending the stay of U.S. troops,[35][36] President Obama announced the full withdrawal of troops from Iraq, as previously scheduled, on 21 October 2011.[36] The U.S. retained an embassy in Baghdad[36] with some 17,000 personnel,[37] consulates in Basra, Mosul and Kirkuk, which have been allocated more than 1,000 staff each,[37] and between 4,000 to 5,000 defense contractors.

False. Obama decided he was leaving one way or the other. The Iraqis knew they needed continuing support from us, and wanted to negotiate a SOFA. Obama continued to alter the deal until it was such a steaming pile of feces that the Iraqis said no thanks, you guys can go.

Obama wanted to be able to say he had pulled ALL the troops out of Iraq, regardless of the consequences. It was as usual, all politics for him. And the consequences of that bad series of decisions by him are back to haunt us now, and will continue to do so for many years to come.
