I can't even watch the whole thing....
It's repulsive- the chick in the video is obviously never missing a meal.

That's what this country has come to- the entitled poor.
It's never enough is it??
Free food, free housing, free clothing, free utilities paid, free lunches,
free healthcare, free everything....free toys at Xmas time.
(There's even people who have rejected what was given to their kids
from Toys for Tots because it wasn't the newest game system, btw).....
There should be a way to stop this runaway train.

Walmart is full of hugely fat people buying junk food on EBT cards and 1/2 of them are parked in disabled parking spaces. Yet go into the Fresh Fruit & Produce dept. and there are none to be seen.

I've seen people reject food at food pantries because it wasn't a national brand.

I've walked away from the whole volunteering/donating scene.
You're right..it's never enough.

I now donate to animals (hay for abused/abandoned/rescue farm animals).
They don't complain. They don't reject the food.

I don't donate, period.
No good deed goes unpunished.

I do believe that charity begins at home, though....
If I see someone who's in need- I do what I can to help right then & there.
Lots of teens that my kids hung around with had mothers who were neglectful & narcissistic.
They'd be out partying, while the kids were left at home w/ absolutely nothing to eat.

(They needed the child support to try to look good, after all to score
another baby daddy at bars)

So every single time-
I'd drive over pick up the kid or kids.....bring them to my house & cook amazing dinners for a crowd...
They never wanted to go home, lol

The sheer irresponsibility of idiots who crank out kids w/ no
idea how to feed them really ticks me off to no end.

The 'SNAP" program is very thorough as to who qualifies so you basically have to jump hurdles to prove that aid is needed.
Lastly it seems people are upset at what they buy! Why? That is none of your business how the poor should eat.
Let's not mention how many people in Uniform are on "food stamps" while serving our country which is a shame to begin with that they are not making enough money to even feed themselves or their families!
Republicans cut back the food stamp allowance yet have no problems increasing money for bombs!
"you can't trade it for cash or other things."

Ah, the uninformed.

"According to the Dayton Daily News, a federal grand jury there recently indicted a handful of residents on 46 counts of federal crimes in connection with a case where authorities allege that the defendants defrauded the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) of $3.8 million over a 28-month period. (Now that’s a lot of food.) The article reports that the defendants allegedly exchanged or redeemed SNAP aka food stamp benefits over 1,000 times from EBT cards for cash or ineligible items, such as alcohol, tobacco, and clothing. Additionally, “the indictment charges that more than $1.2 million of that money was withdrawn from the accounts in ways meant to evade federal currency transaction reporting requirements.†(So they thought that by hiding $1.2 million that the other $2.6 million would go unnoticed?) Authorities seized their bank accounts, but were only able to recover a small portion of the money stolen from taxpayers. (Pay and chase.)
Here, investigators worked diligently for over 19 months building a case against the defendants. Still, this scheme is not new."

Whenever I see videos like this, it is always Black people being interviewed demanding more money they don't deserve in the first place.

And yes, food stamps are regularly traded. At work it seems like Black people always have several friends who they can buy the food stamps for 0.50 cents on the dollar.

It goes to two things:

1) Fairness: People are getting taxed to provide a benefit to people who then use it to buy nicer things than some of the people getting taxed budget/allow for themselves.

2) Waste: The point of SNAP (from the center and right POV) is to keep Americans fed who otherwise wouldn't have enough to eat. If beneficiaries have enough to buy luxury items with the money then clearly we're spending more than is needed to achieve that goal.

Answers 1) First it a safety net for you too when you qualify or need it, further, Uhmmm your missing the point. People using SNAP have also paid into SNAP. Gee most work far harder then an CEO but he gets to get paid to play golf and has an expensive account, while we pay taxes to give the corporation a tax break that goes into his and his share holders pockets. I think this is a far worse injustice or unfair? Don't you?

2) In my state a single person gets $180 in SNAP, thats hardly a ton of money for 30 days and three small meals a day
As to (1), that's a red herring. Taxing people to provide a benefit for people to have nicer things than some of the people getting taxed budget/allow for themselves is unfair. Period. Whether or not many CEOs are overpaid (and often they are) is completely irrelevant.

As to (2), the amounts vary by state, family composition, time, etc., so I won't draw a conclusion from that number alone, but as someone who has kept to a food budget of around that amount when I was making less money than I have in recent years - without sacrificing my health to do so, I ate pretty well, just had to cook and avoided spendy and unhealthy cow products - I really don't agree that $180/month is a particularly small amount of money for a program that is ostensibly meant to (A) be supplemental and (B) provide a basic nutritious diet.

I agree, I'm sick of these fools thinking that food stamps are supposed to be used to entirely pay for one's food budget. The massive stipends some of these pigs get is much more than I have and I have to work for it.

Look at the carts of the food stamp people in the video, it's all junk food. They are even too lazy to prepare healthy meals with their handouts.
