I understand that. But I CHOSE not to judge somebody that way. It is his personal choice, not mine. Plus, he is not here to defend himself. Who am I to judge HIM? If he is here, I can ask him a question, but he is not here, I don't think it is fair to judge somebody who is not here to defend himself.
My friend, a former Marine Sergeant's story is all over internet. He CHOSE to be quiet, but government and civilian world still gave him the recognition he deserved. It is his PERSONAL choice not to get involved with media.
Kyle made a personal choice to write a book about his own life, I see nothing wrong with it. It is not like he revealed classified information.
Of course it was his choice. Has anyone suggested differently? You seem to be freaking out about nothing. Damn near EVERYTHING in LIFE is a personal choice. So what?
There is pretty clear evidence of racism. He refers to those who opposed us in Iraq as savages and in other ugly terms. That would be racist.
The tattooed crusader cross was another indication. Wanted to make sure that he was a Christian killing infidels.
I believe the acts of our enemy that he witnessed could be considered savage.
Sounds like you believe that any soldier that is Christian in Afghanistan is racist.
To be able to be ok with killing human beings in a war scenario, it is common to train soldiers that their enemy is less than human and deserve to die before they kill your brothers. So to use derogatory remarks about your enemy has always been common practice. Something you may never have done before becoming a battlefield soldier.
Remember Vietnam? All soldiers refered to the enemy as gooks.
WW2.... Nips.

So I chose not to judge somebody based on their personal choice. So what?

Bill O'reilly asked Kyle ,"Do you think the enemies consider you as savages?" Kyle said, "I am sure they did, and I really don't care"

So what? You brought it up.
Choices, choices, so many choices. There's a place for "personal responsibility/choice" rhetoric, but it doesn't fit everywhere.
