Very, very low.

Of course.

No, I did not.

Based on these questions, you obviously haven't read what I wrote either.

Sigh. Yet another poorly worded poll, with no other non cliche choices.

I grew up. accepted responsibility for my life, and worked my ass off to get into the great middle class of this great nation of ours.

Good thing I came of age in the Reagan years. God knows that kids today have fewer opportunities, what with all our jobs in China these days ...

Jesus Christ, what does Obama have to do with this?

I didn't say that you can't outperform and subsequently, transcend the class of your birth.

However, most people in this world don't do that. Given the parameters which are very wide in respect to what's considered middle class, most middle-class kids end up as middle-class adults. You can't refute that.

In my own case, I've actually underperformed given my parent's success.

In any case, my story is extremely typical.

And for the kids who want to be artists and athletes. Good luck. My suggestion is that you need something to fall back on.

Effective networking is investing in yourself. Networking is part of the "work" that makes you more marketable.

You're acting all coy now after just stating people rarely get jobs through connections.

Son is Managing Partner, Daughter is in HR and SIL has bounced around different positions.
