How does this differ from "shall" language in the other Amendments?
1st - Congress shall make no law
4th - shall not be violated
6th - the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial,
sorry bentbow, but ANY amendment can be repealed if congress gets enough votes, to send such an amendment to the states, and if enough states ratify such an amendment.

This is true, but such an action would more than likely cause a major uproar. I know quite a few gun owners that are of the attitude that if the 2nd was repealed, and the government tried to enforce it, they'd surrender their guns.... one bullet at a time. Not my words, and I would hope that it never come to that. I think that due to the some potential serious unrest it would be in America's best interest to NOT try and repeal the 2nd.
The shear power, sophistication and amount of modern weaponry controlled by the US government makes the announced confiscation of civilian, shoulder mounted weaponry, an unnecessary endeavor.

Who are you going to get to enforce those government orders? There are more civilians than soldiers in this country that would fight any attempt to try to strip the people from the ability to protect themselves from said government.

I believe that to be a RW wet dream. Lone wolves are flying off the handle all the time in the name of patriotism. LEs take them on, hunt them down and kill them. The Pennsylvania shooter is a perfect example.
there was no issue with exterminating the David Koresh bunch when they revolted against government control.
Nobody rose up from the right when Ruby Ridge happened and no LEOs said, "Hell No! I won't participate."
The idea that the whole nation would rise up against the government and all the troops would throw down their weapons is a fantasy promoted by the right wing nut jobs.
The 2nd amendment is the only amendment that has wording so it can never be amended.... EVER
Shall not be infringed, is very powerful.
The constitution is always worded so that it can be amended. Amendment may be damned near impossible, but never say never.
