Wow, you really are confused. There is nothing in our law, Constitution or anything at all that would trump me getting my kids an education. Quit swinging wildly. Think a minute before replying.

My point is that children do not have all of the same rights we do. If they did and your child told you he was going to spend the night at his friend's house, you couldn't stop him or you'd be arrested.

I don't know why this is so hard to grasp.

I really don't care what you think.. perhaps that's the problem.
I'm not looking for a fight the kid is doing this because he's lazy for the most part. I am NOT going to cause a stink because you feel the need to contact the school. I'm sure that this is something the teacher told him that he has to do & that's about the extent of it. Get over it because I'm not going to post the name of the school. Again don't like it don't care.

But I addressed that over and over and over and over but it hasn't seemed to have sunk in.

Because it's absolutely irrelevant. Again, not that it's going to make a difference. The law is clear here, he does not have to recite the pledge.

So you thought it important to start a thread over your lazy kid?

Besides....No one has ever been able to do just whatever they want....it is called society. No smoking came about because the majority of folks wanted smoking rules/laws...that's just one example you used. And, I'm pretty sure that you can live off-grid, on your own land.
Why are you so against the values this country was founded upon?

"The republic" certainly IS the government. No two ways about it.

Umm IF you read my OP then you would see that I didn't have all the facts right then. I mentioned it here because I thought it would be interesting topic nonetheless.
