The lefties always trot out the "but I like clean water" response. But there are millions of regulations that most of us never hear about and a huge number of them just preserve the status quo, reinforce the power of government and prevent new small competitors from entering a market. They also restrict freedom and increase our cost of living.

This is just one example of how ridiculous many of these regulations are;
-----------------------------
"They want us to pay for our own raisins that we grew," says Raisin Valley Farms owner Marvin Horne. "We have to buy them back!"

This is but one absurdity that Marvin and his wife Laura have faced during their decade-long legal battle with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Every year, the Hornes plant seeds, tie vines, harvest fruit, and place grapes in paper trays to create sun-dried raisins. And every year, the federal government prevents them from bringing their full harvest to market.

And the good news is there is hope since this case will go before the Supremes;

Wow, that got complicated fast, reading the various links, including some of the 'friend of the court' briefs (including one by Texas). I see that the regulations involved appear to have arisen during the Great Depression. An excellent example of why such regulations should have 'sunset' provisions. I'm rather mad at Sun Maid since (I assume) they have lobbied to make sure this regulation stays in force.

A lot of government regulations protect the large incumbents and are barriers to small start up competitors. This one is truly a sad story of Government overreach.

Exactly! This is a perfect example of how progressivism steals from the 99% for the 1%. Liberals LOVE these regulations.

I would like to see all designer gas formulations go away and have a single standard gasoline formula.

You don't get it. Big businesses want more regulation to squeeze out competition, not the other way around.

He said that in his post. That the rules are there to protect the large incumbents.

Liberals love these regulations? Nope big businesses love these type of regulations. I know you are just an ignorant ideologue, but there needs to be a balance.

Based off their wishes.... It's a right wing soundbite about liberals and govt loving regulations.... It's big businesses and over protective mothers that love burdensome regulations.
