Is this the guy who has a 16K sq. ft. entertainment center in one of his houses?
You realize there will be an onslaught of posters who agree with him due to whatever they believe. Whether it's keeping up with the Jones' or other red herring.
I'll follow his lead. I'll give him a head start and allow him to trade houses with me until he gets settled into the simple life. I'm hesitant to do this but I'll even entrust him with my 15 year old minivan. He will probably trade it in for a Prius but I won't be mad. He's rich. It takes time to adjust to the simple life and learn about things like car payments and budgets. Poor guy.

I agree he's probably (OK, "DEFINITELY") not the most credible person to make the point, but I agree. I don't think anyone "needs" to tell, or be told, but in general, we buy a lot of CR@P that we don't need. (Not just an American thing). In general, I see a lot of people who live with a lot of debt. I wholly respect that it is none of my business what they do with their money (or their credit), but I would agree that they as individuals, and we as a nation would be better off with less debt, more liquid cash, and more cash available to invest in productive things.
I am not in favor of it being some kind of rule. I just think it's common sense.
It reminds me of Al Gore and many other politicians warning us of "Global Warming" as they jet around the world in their private planes, travel on the ground in large motorcades. Live in mansions, etc. It's so ridiculous.

The crap we as Americans buy for ourselves is far less destructive to our society than the crap our Government buys on our behalf.
This billionaire should be railing against the unbelievable waste, graft and corruption in our government before laying into the little people who they steal from. I guarantee this idiot has done his share of getting public money for donating to a "friend" in office!
REP'd everyone on the first page, because you are all absolutely, positively, unequivocally, CORRECT!
