Look at how calm and reasonable this Australian cop is while a drunk driver is being completely disrespectful and abrasive. If this were the US, the cop would have entered the scene screaming, then tasing him into submission when he disobeys.

Wow, he caused an accident, drove drunk 4x over the legal limit, was driving without a license, talked back to a cop, and all he got was a $600 fine and 4 months community service?

If he was in the US, he'd have been fined at least $10,000, imprisoned for several years, and beaten by the cops. Not to mention, he'd be more likely to be sued for damages by the property owners in civil court.

Compared to most other developed countries, the US (along with Singapore) has to be the most authoritarian fear-based society.

This is why cops here get away with ridiculous aggression that escalates to a gang of cops shooting dead some emo girl with a knife.

It might have been suicide by cop. And when you think about it, there's something somewhat disturbing about this being so common that it's actually an official suicide method. And sadder still that all it takes to make that happen is to just stand there with a kitchen knife.

And he would have deserved every bit of it. I have absolutely ZERO sympathy for drunk drivers and other criminals that put innocent people in harm's way.

I wonder if we will be hearing about how "white lives matter" or if people will try to be PC as usual and act like it only happens to blacks and saying white lives matter is racist?

A teenage girl walks into the police station alledgedly with a knife confronts three police officers and not one of those cops were smart enough to use a taser and thought to shoot first and ask questions later. Welcome to Texas!

It will? Sorry; that girl had it coming, she signed her death warrant by trying to cut the cops. Oh well, it is what it is and I DON'T care about her skin color even tho I'm "white" too.

Should he have his fingernails peeled off one-by-one and be hung, drawn and quartered, too?

The sheer vengeful bloodthirstiness of some of you is downright primitive.

Though some of it may be Stockholm Syndrome. People here are so accustomed to fearing this kind of attitude that they actually start to love it. Sick.

Unfortunately, even when someone isn't they could be viewed that way. Unfortunately there are many people, Black, White and other who have no problem promoting most all black men as thugs. I'm sure some think it's a form of empowerment, and in some environments it probably is but overall it's a form of disempowerment.

Awesome how everyone with an Internet connection and some free time immediately becomes a police conduct and legal expert!
Ah, the guy that started the thread condemning the police now cries that we don't have enough information.

You just hit 11 on the hypocrisy scale.
