Since the equal rights movement and the current trend towards a more emotionally in tuned society, are American men becoming feminized?
When one looks around and the growing acceptance of homosexuality, the swapping of gender roles in heterosexual relationships, and this near obsession with personal vanity that many men seem to focus on today and a general tendency towards egalitarianism.
This piece I ran across brings up some very interesting trends and points out various aspects of what appears to be the feminization of American men.

As the influence of the new psychology permeates our culture, women have understandably begun to wonder whether men are really, well, human. "What if these women are right?" wonders one writer in an article for Marie Claire, a national woman's magazine. "What if it's true that some men don't possess, or at least can't express, nuanced emotions?"8 More than a few contemporary psychologists have come to regard the male of our species as a coarsened, more violent edition of the normal, female, human. Not surprisingly, they have begun to question whether having a man in the house is desirable or even safe.
Judging by the number and duration of wars, that our country seems so adept at getting involved in.....I'd say basically the answer to your question is NO.....Behaviour is a "relative experience" and I see what "you" call feminization as simply our species' evolution and hopefully maturation. . . PS.....Ann Coulter says this thread is designed to be polarizing ;-)
The deadly alliance of radical feminists with the "law and order" right strikes again! It began in California and has subsequently spread throughout the nation and anglosphere.
The United States of Evil America is corrupted by this radical criminal organization. Historically, the law was corrupted by actual organized crime like the Mafia. Now it's corrupted by this feminist gang.

Because women in power are so peace-loving and dovish, like Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, and Golda Meir
American men arn't becoming more feminine. American men are becoming more fat. There are many disgusting, corn syrup guzzling, fatties out there. We have to worry more about that over those vegetarian, Apple techies out there.
Most of these "real men" on here probably think they are tough because they grew some massive man boobies. That isn't tough.

And Merkel Gaddafi may be crazy, but he was right when he said she is more of a man than a woman Whatever the secret behind American feminization is, please tell Merkel
I don't think it makes sense to mix appearance with homosexuality. In my opinion the percentage of homosexuals was just as high 100 or 50 years ago, but fewer people knew about it because usually it was not OK to come out. They used to get married as if they were heterosexuals, so who knows, maybe some guys back then who we consider 'real men' now, were actually gay as well.
