Honestly I have about zero patience for people who harp on about the use of nukes.

#1: We were the first and only to HAVE them.

#2: Our use of them was the last, because of the lessons learned.

And let me guess... you also think the Japanese Emperor was in his car on his way to surrender but the US just wanted to test its bombs out on civilians or something....?

It IS amazing how some people have their heads so far in the sand that they don't realize that there ARE bad people in the world.

Could you imagine how we could have used the money we spent in Vietnam, Iraq , and Afghanistan??
We have infrastructure that needs rebuilt. Think of the jobs that could have been created.
We can't give our citizens free medical care or college but we always seem to have the money for another war. It's crazy!

But, but, but.....................................

Doing things for Americans and building America would be SOCIALISM!

Fighting to improve life in and building other countries is a noble cause!

It must be true, the MIC and its disciiples tell us it is

Not really, previous generations have always been more violent... especially when it comes to war.

We live in a pretty quiet, peaceful era when it comes to war, and the wars that are fought today are very different than wars fought in previous generations

We also have the distinction of being the only country to have used nukes.
The lunatics in DC have been at it while
There was several years of peace following WW1 before we were attacked by Japan. At the time of the attack, Japan's diplomats were negotiating a peace treaty. WW 2 ended around 1944. There was several years of peace before we entered Korea via the United Nations. Vietnam ended in 1973. Tell me who we went to war with between then and the early 1980s when we had a brief skirmish? And after that brief skirmish, who were we at war with between then and 1991 when we fought Iraq out of Kuwait? I'd love it if we pulled ALL our military back to the USA to defend OUR nation instead of defending other nations. Our political leaders of both parties have drawn us into wars that people in the region should have taken care of on their own. This has led to some European countries having a token military and rely upon the USA for the bulk of military actions. They poo-poo US in the UN biblically, then privately beg the USA to do the job for them.

Who do you think these bad people are? Haven`t you ever thought about that sometimes (especially past few decades) these BAD PEOPLE are the American Army and rulers with corporations? Are we the world`s policemen? Look at the recent events not from the pseudo-patriotic side

Nuking Japan was probably unnecessary, but then again....we did what we had to do. They DID start if after all.

Other than that, i agree with you.

Whose fault is it that we're stupid enough to defend wealthy nations that can defend themselves?
