Heard on the news this a.m. that measles is spreading in AZ and CA
Well, everyone knows, that those states are high with illegal immigrants....and they are not immunized....
which was another reason for legal immigration system in this country, to make sure everyone who came into this country had their shots.

Also, when you visit another country, you have to have all your shots up to date before you can leave, right?

Well, our channel 6 Action news reported this morning, that it is spreading due to travelers coming in from other countries....

Yet, they do not show the kid and adults who have been effected....You can bet, the majority of these diseases are being spread by illegals that do not have their shots.

I'm glad you are caught up on the news. Here is a link to the CDC noting that the outbreak has spread to 27 states, with the CDC speculating that the current outbreak was indeed caused by foreign visitors (perhaps the Phillipines, from someone visiting Disney Land).

Measles | Cases and Outbreaks | CDC

But, no doubt those sneaking over our border can bring some disease with them. I don't believe Mexico has had an outbreak of measles. Regardless, people should get the vaccine for protection here.

and I watch the news every morning

I think that is a bunch of hog wash....
visitors from other countries, huh (and I'm not being snarky to you) but don't we have laws that demand before anyone visits this country, they must have shots? I know we do going out....

legalsea, I don't believe the news....can you tell?

Mexicans have higher shot compliance than US residents do, so they are not the source. The problem is really rather simple: idiots in the US who don't vaccinate their kids. Get your shots and don't worry about it.

are you kidding me, if they come here illegally, then why and how would they get shots?

I'm sorry, but someone has to be bringing this stuff in.....

remember all those kids that came across the border?

I'm sure they were given shots when farmed out to different states...however, what about when they first arrived....what about the workers...?

and it isn't just Mexicans sneaking into the U.S., they are coming from all over the world...in Florida you've got people from Hatie....then there are Russians, Muslims, etc, etc....

I don't understand your saying that you 'don't believe the news', when your thread is about news you saw this morning.

Anyway, it does seem clear that the outbreak started at Disney Land in California. Since many people from overseas visit Disney Land, and many may well come from countries that have ongoing problems with measles, I can readily believe that someone flew in from somewhere and spread the disease.

Mind! I am not saying that illegals can't bring disease in (I believe I said that very thing). It is entirely possible that an illegal from south of the border came across the border and visited Disney Land.

As for laws requiring visitors to be fully immunized before visiting this country: I don't know. I doubt that they have to provide proof of immunization, but probably just a form in which they check off that they have been immunized, or something like that.

Yeah, but those people come from Europe and Asia! Right-wingers aren't interested in scapegoating them.

They get shots in Mexico. Mexico and most of latin America (and the world for that matter) has public health campaigns to get people inoculated. Shots are given in the schools, at clinics and so on. The rates of inoculated kids in the places where they came from this summer is higher than the US. Socialism! In any case, as I said and apparently have to repeat so it sinks in: in the case of measles it would not matter if US children were being immunized as they should be. There would never have been an outbreak at Disneyland. If someone gets measles, it is their own fault. This is a problem of our own making.

Yes, the news said this morning that this outbreak is coming from people who are visiting from other countries? and I say, Hog Wash to that report....isn't it a law, that before visitors enter this country, they must get all their shots, or they cannot come in? Oh and yes, I think the News Media lie to us, of course they do.

But again, think about it, international laws require when leaving and/or coming into the states, you must have all your shots....

I'm more apt to believe that then what the news has said.....

yeah, no, I think your wrong, and believe me, I could be wrong, but you go to the doctor with a form, he knows all the shots you have to get, and he gives you those shots, and it may take a few visits, to get all of them...but, I don't believe they would allow you out of the country without those shots? I could be wrong though....I'm going back a lot of years...things could have changed, I don't know, what I do know is, that a lot of us are oblivious as to how many illegals are in this country....and they have not been vaccinated and they work in our restaurants.

wait, so if your an illegal, and your not going for your citizenship, but you have gotten into the country, do you honestly believe that they are going to go to the doctor and get all their shots?
