I have only known one person who had such surgery (about 5 years ago). He/she is still not happy. Turns out the old sages were right all along: Happiness comes only through acceptance of self. Fake boobs, nose jobs, botox, and re-assignments are a fools folly. But, to each his own. I hope this person finds their joy.
I think these people want to be a woman, and want people to accept them as a woman, and when they find out after going thru all the surgery and treatments... people still do not accept them as a woman, so they are not satisfied.
I lived in a mid-sized town, and we had a man going thru this treatment. He was a big 6'4" hulk of a man, with a square head and iron jaw. Poor guy would wear a dress with make-up, and a boob job, and still looked like a nose tackle in a dress.
Pretty sure the point is that he can't be a woman and he's going to be messing with things that require a lifetime of maintenance and upkeep and will still be a man under the fake boobs and makeup. It's not really narrow minded to understand male and female genders and to acknowledge we can't change genders...we can just pretend.
I really hope this isn't what he's doing because if he says it he will probably not be allowed to get out of it if he ever changes his mind. The praise and accolades for this type stuff runs one way, especially when you are a celebrity and a "role model" for whatever it is you claim to be at the moment.
I understand that no matter what, he will always be a male genetically. I have come to know a number of transgendered, transexual, transvestite people over the past 9 years since I came out to the gay/lesbian community and know now more then ever that gender identity is more then genitals or genetics. I have met women that make me feel less butch and men that out do women in femininity. Sexuality is not so narrow as just male and female, gay and straight.

He can be transgender and still be 100% straight. I think you're mixing gender identity with sexual attraction.
That's not okay either. He needs to be 100% straight, no trangender.
