Even for Guantanamo bay prison, look at the food they serve. These prisoners have private chef and great food.

In MY opinion there should be NO charges for possession of Marijuana, now moving it across national borders is another matter.
My best Marijuana is grown "locally" in grow houses, ala the program "WEEDS"

There is very little crime related to Marijuana that ISN'T connected to it being illegal.

I'm ok with cheap, simple food like bologna sandwhiches so long as it's not rancid meat and moldy bread. Oatmeal for every breakfast is fine too. Oats are very cheap and very nutritious.

When Mr. CSD and I were broke we had to do without cable, cell phones, internet and a house phone but prisoners get all of that and more.

We should not have to pay for the care of prisoners when we have to do without any of those luxuries given in prison.
Prison in the United States is like a luxury vacation to some prisoners and if their families had to do without to cover their expenses I bet the prisoners would have much less and their families would has well.
SMH...you folks are amazing.

Are you willing to pay for prison for one of your relatives, or are you one of these folks that think that it could NEVER happen to them or their families?

Prison in the United States isn't like a luxury vacation to anyone locked up. Seriously...some of you posters have some serious personal issues.

They'd be horrified and scared to death for their family members.

Truth is, these people are just blowing smoke. They don't even believe the crap they're saying.

Tents and MRE's....for 5, 10 or 20 years?

Do you know how ridiculous you sound?

And i don't care how many farms and bakeries LA County Jail has...it's still the most dangerous county lockup in this country. It's gladiator school and you can find yourself in there for nothing more than stacking up traffic warrants or back child support arrears.

They should have nutritious food, with the same standard re bugs as the food served to the general public (believe it or not, a certain amount of bugs is acceptable).

The food; however, should not be good. It should be bland, processed and cheap. They should all be given nutraloaf.

The food "should not be good?" Really?

So who should be the food taster to make sure that the food has no flavor after cooking it?

You're actually suggesting that cooks...trained to make good tasting food, should INTENTIONALLY make food with no taste, and serve it to hundreds of p*ssed of prisoners in a facility that's already on edge 24/7? That's what you're suggesting?

You wanna serve someone nutraloaf 3 meals a day over a full prison term, when prison systems use it as a disciplinary food for insolent prisoners?

(black stare and in total disbelief)

Does this type of imbecilic thinking come standard with the GOP Membership Card?

Prison is for punishment, not for enjoyment. I don't care if prisoners don't like the way the food tastes. They should have thought about that before harming society.

Plus serving nutraloaf would be considerably cheaper.

Considerably dumber too.

You give a guy 10-20 years or longer...and you think he's gonna lay down for eating nutraloaf...a food used to feed guys in solitary, 3 times a day?

Really now? So a skeleton crew of prison guards that are basically UNARMED are gonna be able to handle a facility with hundreds of thugged out prisoners that eat Nutraloaf 3 times a day? You're saying that?

Dude...you wouldn't last 2 days as an inmate in a place like Folsom or Florence in General Population. The weakest prisoners would be extorting you for your commissary. They'd be exchanging you for packs of Top Ramen and loose cigs. And yet, you think it's possible to get away with serving hundreds of prisoners Nutraloaf as a meal with nothing more than a few unarmed guards supervising them?

LMAO...you should reserve your comments to threads about bake sales, clothing drives, and how much you hate Obama.

Real world issues aren't your forte.
