The U.S. government has no money, so why do we need someone to be Secretary of something that doesn't exist?

Because it's the government. Government creates positions and departments that do nothing but suck revenue. That is the nature of the beast. Once created, it exists forever.

What utter foolishness. Aggressive, deliberate ignorance is still ignorance. No - worse - you know that you're spewing ridiculous nonsense, and knowing that you're responding to ridiculous nonsense, so that's worse than foolishness. Back in the day, it would be normal to just ignore such frivolity. Now, such things are repeated with such frequency by those seeking to use foolishness to rationalize their morally offensive attitudes about society that such foolishness itself demands condemnation, especially when there are so many so ready to try to ratify the foolishness with a response.
We get the message: You want everything to be about your ability to exploit the economy to foster your own personal comfort and luxury. You want to live in society but not live as a member of society. You demand the right to be inimical toward those who are downtrodden, perhaps even harkening back to the good ol' days when people like yourself lorded over the serfs.
But the reality is that you do live as a member of society. As such, foolishness doesn't exempt you from abiding by society's parameters, as defined by society rather than defined by your own personal preferences. We all have an obligation of stewardship over society and all its members, not just ourselves and the people we like.
The mission of the Treasury is this:
Quote:
Maintain a strong economy and create economic and job opportunities by promoting the conditions that enable economic growth and stability at home and abroad, strengthen national security by combating threats and protecting the integrity of the financial system, and manage the U.S. Government’s finances and resources effectively.
|
Having a job and having financial security doesn't excuse resentment toward the aspect of society that seeks to foster such things for others, any more than having something to eat excuses resentment toward people you don't care about having enough food to eat. The desire to exploit the economy for personal gain doesn't excuse resentment toward the economy being directed toward serving the needs of all Americans rather than just the Americans you like.
It is time for those who relish aggressive, deliberate ignorance to stop playing games with the lives of those less fortunate; to start realizing that their gamesplaying causes real harm to real human beings. Callousness is not a virtue - compassion and consideration are virtues.

When the people realize they can vote themselves the entire treasury of the USA, the experiment in liberty will end.

Because someone has to supply the ink for the treasury printing press...also to oversee welfare payments so they can get their fair share of your money!

Well there are millions of taxes written in their name, hitting their office as we type.
Someone has to go deposit it into the federal reserve.
