The economic "recovery" has left many behind. There are 11,000,000+ more people on food stamps (SNAP) then on Obama's 1st day in office.
On Obama's 1st day in office we had just under 32,000,000 people on Food Stamps. 8 years later, on his last day, we will have over 43,000,000 people on Food Stamps.
Or if the economic recovery isn't leaving millions more behind, then there is massive fraud in the food stamp program.
In example, a massive Food Stamp fraud ring was busted last year where at least $13,000,000.00 in cash was traded for a mountain of food stamps in Miami.
Some people fear that allowing online retailers like Amazon and others to accept Food Stamps will create more fraud. What do you all think?

Where did you get this from? can you quote the article?
It could be that more people qualified for Food Stamps.
Food stamps is not a poor people scheme of wealth redistribution it is a crony capitalism scheme of wealth redistribution. Restaurants, grocery stores, you name it, are now firmly attached to the government teat and they are NOT going to let go!
People think that welfare is going to go away? You are crazy! The Dems and Republicans are equally responsible for creating the collusion and corruption that is and will continue to destroy the greatest experiment in history.
THIS is why trying to explain Free Markets to anyone today is impossible. People conflate Free Markets with Capitalism, and the Capitalism that exists in today's America is NOT Free Markets it is crony capitalism created by the revolving door between government and lobbyist organizations. The power structure in DC is all about power and control. The power to control the economy by regulation and collusion.
This will not end well, people. Time to face reality.

It's wonderful to think that, in a country of so much money, more and more people are able to go to bed with full stomachs each night. It is so easy to judge people who need help, but, any of us who have had hard times in our lives , know how great it is that some people care and will help out.
I think it is a positive sign that America is helping more of its' people today than ever before.
We should just let them starve instead. Or maybe make sure only one store in each 20 mile radius accepts food stamps.
We should go back to Government cheese. See how long people stay on food stamps if it means that they get generic hamburger, pasta and government cheese to sustain them instead of Pizza and Soda and Whole Foods groceries.
My bet is that no one starves today...since that has yet to happen in the US as a result of "poverty."

Considering food stamps were a ploy to save the farms, I think we should get a lot closer to that aim. I love that is is a trend that farmers markets give out double dollars for food stamps to use at the market. Helps the farmers sell more produce. Supports local businesses and the local economy. Win win!
I would not mind more "wealth redistribution" that goes directly back to our local economies. That is job creation I can get behind.
Unfortunately today's food stamps just get spent in big businesses increasing their profits. Some of them (ahem Walmart) even employ a lot of the food stamp users. So Walmart gets it on both ends: they pay low wages keeping their employees in poverty and the employees pay them in food stamps one grocery day.
Democrats are very good at creating poverty. And corporations are all too happy to capitalize on that poverty.
Thankfully, Americans have woken up and consulted the GOP and Trump to change the course. Couldn't have happened soon enough!
