In new budget, Obama proposing 14 percent tax on overseas profits to fund infrastructure projects | Fox News
Should Obama just borrow the money instead as Republican governors Walker, Christy, and Brownback are doing?

Yes that some conservatives wanted. I doubt Democrats wanted earmarks for NASCAR tracks to get a chunk of the stimulus money for infrastructure.

That's a big tax cut, which he has proposed four times in the past five years.

So, he is proposing a tax cut for corporations earning money in US. The reason why corporations do not invest their earnings in US is the 35% tax rate. They choose to keep them outside of US. So, this would give them two incentives to invest the money in US: 1. Taxes in US would be lower. 2. Taxes for keeping money outside of US would be higher.
I think that is a good thing. Why should we allow tax cuts to make Bangladesh look nice for employers?

Ever hear the phrase "The buck stops here"? Probably not, it's obvious Obama and his sycophants haven't. Responsibilities, not just privileges, come along with being President.

Better double check who voted for those wars, who continued to vote to fund them and who expanded them. It certainly wasn't Bush or Republicans alone. Obama has spent $800,000,000,000 on war in Afghanistan alone.

Of course the geniuses working for Obama claim they don't even know how much it's costing, and you expect us to trust them to spend even more money?

IMHO, that is a question that needs to be answered before we start saying more taxes are necessary.

Like I said, it needs to be paid for, and if the current taxes are not high enough, they need to be raised.

I did check.

By far the majority of Republicans voted for the Iraq war, including a Republican president, and the majority of the Democrats voted against it. The Iraq war was the most expensive war in history.

I BELIEVE most Democrats voted against it as a CYA move. They knew it was going to pass, and felt safe voting against it.

The thing is, the Democrat LEADERSHIP voted for war (giving Bush authorization and funding). If the Democrat party was against it, their most prominent members in the most important positions wouldn't have given it the green light.

How would federal highway maintenance work on the local level, some of those highways go through very poor areas while others go through wealthy districts. You're going to ask a very poor district to fund a bridge overhaul on a major highway.

No he should use the Highway Trust fund as it was intended instead of raping it for pet projects that have nothing to do with highways.

I believe the federal government should only be funding interstate highways while the states fund intrastate highways.

Can Obama do that without House approval?
