If it's 21 miles round trip I can believe it. Many distance runners do 100 miles per week, and some do as much as 160. Man is the greatest distance running critter of them all.
TIL that humans are the best long-distance runners on the planet, able to beat horses (and everything else) in marathon distance races. : todayilearned

If it's 21 miles each way then I would agree that it defies physiology.

It would take will over 6 hours per day to walk one way to work at 21 miles at the average walking pace of 17 to 20 minutes per mile. So that's 12 hours of your day.

The idea that you could even attempt to do this on some days during the winter in that part of the country is pretty ridiculous.

However this reminds me of the stories about Walter Stack and Ted Corbitt back in the day.

I'm more skeptical of the bit about him sleeping only 2 hours per day.

Was going to post this. How can one survive on two hours of sleep a night for 10 years ? Highly doubtful. Also he walks about 12 miles total, a lot yes but not what the media and have claimed .

Thx for graphic--none of this makes any sense to me. The distance for the first leg is not given, only the time. Why would it take 2.5 hours to traverse 5 miles on the last leg of his journey home? Normal walking pace is 4 mph, so it should be half that (75 minutes). If it were me, I greatly prefer slow jogging over walking. Nine or 10 minutes per mile is a relaxed, leisurely pace for me and I am a little older than Mr. Robertson. So the time to cover 5 miles would be less than an hour.

I call bull-leavings. Anyone who has donated to this guy has been duped.
