I don't think his transgression is career-ending unlike Dan "Fake but Accurate" Blather. Even if he's done at NBC, he'll land on his feet somewhere. Maybe not as an anchor, but he'll be back in the business in some capacity.

There is always an elected office. Lying is accepted there.
I wonder if he got his son the job he laughed about on Letterman , saying he'd get his son a job as a sports reporter or something two weeks after he graduated from college , bet he's not laughing now

Williams' fibs weren't ideologically motivated; he was motivated by self-aggrandizement.
Now that Rosie is gone from 'The View', He can get a job there and tell first hand personal experience stories. And now that there is an opening at NBC nightly news, Rosie can be the teleprompter reader. She is also honest, truthful, fair, balanced, stable and will fit right in with the NBC agenda.
Perhaps they can stash him at MSNBC with the other nuts.
