Oklahoma is the most fertile of trolling grounds in the US at the moment.
Oklahoma should be promoted to tourists as the state you gotta come here to believe the bizarre stories that come out. Much of it is due to the far right Christian culture that has been in place since Oklahoma became a state in 1907. One of the first official state acts was to ban alcohol.
To clarify things, the Satanist wasn't critical of the bill because it abolishes Oklahoma issuing marriage licenses. Instead, he just wanted satanic officiants/priests added to the list of people entitled to perform "religious" marriages under the statute.
Many Christian right Republicans in Oklahoma want the issuing of marriage licenses limited only to Christian and Jewish ministers handing them out. Everybody else, such as Muslims and atheists who don't want to get married that way would have to get a common law marriage.

Once it was determined that there were no harmful substances in the envelopes, everything returned to "normal".
the letter and who sent it apparently had nothing to do with the security alert.
