Sorry to burst your bubble but all Presidents think they are untouchable. And most are. Both Reagan and Jr had a plan and both were very wrong. Reagan with arming Iraq and Iran and Bush and his 6 month Iraq war. I hope you felt the same way about those 2 or are they saints in your book?

i don't know about that. Reagan kept Iraq and Iran at each others throats for years, if that was his intention it worked very well.

Obama couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag.

That's what we said going into Iraq. Remember the "Mission Accomplished" banner? Then we lost over 4000 troops, Billions in Equipment, 200.000 Iraqi citizens, and bankrupted our economy. And we are still paying for it.

Anyone want to enlist to be dropped in the Pershmega controlled areas to pickup a rifle and go get an ISIS bad guy? I understand they will take volunteers.

Maybe you meant that we could wipe out ISIS in 95 years of weeks. I could agree with that, if you added Nukes. ISIS is an Ideology, not a Country with a base population. Its been around thousands of years, so good luck with a week.

And if ISIS keeps the other Islamic extremists (because you know they aren't the only one) busy, is that not a win?

[let them kill each other]

Better yet, join up. The Peshmerga are taking volunteers, and will give you a free AK47. Go for it. I will look for you on TV, here.

A lot of us wanted to finish our job in Afghanistan before splitting our forces. so why did Bush do it? He was not an experienced military commander or military strategist, so he must have relied on sage advise from people he considered commanders and strategists.

Was Bush convinced we could fight both wars by military men who wanted their own combat commands, or civilian advisers and staff who were full of hubris?

I do remember Putin telling Bush right after 9/11 that his KGB learned that Saddam was making plans to perform 9/111 styled attacks in the US. So was that a factor in Bush's decision making process also?

I don't know how it all went down, but I agree with your premise, we needed to complete our work in Afghanistan, Iraq was not going anywhere.

I don't think people are war hungry. Just some see that war is necessary sometimes. Or just an extermination in the case of ISIS.

My vote is Muslim sympathizer. I want to believe that ISIS doesn't represent the Muslim religion. I pray they don't.

0bama pulled all our troops and advisers out of Iraq to keep a campaign promise during an election year, when the Iraq army was not ready to defend it's own border.

Then 0bama sat back and allowed ISIL to progress thru Iraq without doing anything.

Nope, sorry, I do not have any confidence that 0bama wants to defeat ISIL.

You ask me to pick up a gun and fight? I just told you that I do not think 0bama is in it to win, so whatever I would do, would be undone by 0bama, as he has already undone with Iraq. Your problem is that you can't see the forest for the trees.
